This piece is part of a wider body of work of McGroarty’s, wherein she explores devotional materialism through domestic objects, specifically ornaments. In this piece, she is specifically exploring the perpetrators of internalised misogyny instigated by an intra-christian sectarianism.
Pig holds a basket of pig trotters and figs. Boy pig holds his teddy, a little stuffed rabbit, common garden prey that he’s grown up around and maybe been taught to hunt, even for sport.
