current
projects
Some of my ongoing projects include my painting practice, running weekly life drawing classes at WASPS Dundee as well as offering private tutoring, and writing in my substack. Below are some of the long term projects I’m involved with. Additionally, running the Regional Artists Database(s), as well as editing, producing, programming and filming The Scottish Art Show.
The MUM of DAD
Katie McGroarty created the Dundee Artists Database in 2024, to help platform artists in Dundee and have a living yellow-pages-esque document of current creativity in Dundee. In 2026, Katie co-founded the Scottish Working Class Database, and expanded the DAD to be the RAD (Regional Artists Database) which also now includes the Edinburgh Creatives Database, the West Dunbartonshire Creatives Database, and is expanding currently across Scotland.
Clifftop Projects
From August 2025, Katie has been a board member of Clifftop Projects CIC, an arts charity supplying and facilitating arts for young people in West Dunbartonshire. In late 2020, Katie began working with Clifftops on their Youth Advisory Board, as well as helping with art classes. Being from West Dunbartonshire herself, Katie is excited and enthusiastic about joining the board to help make arts in West Dunbartonshire more accessible.
The Scottish Art Show
In 2026, Katie founded The Scottish Art Show, a digital platform where artists from around Scotland talk about their work, practice, ideas and processes free from contemporary art jargon, or the constraints of institutional contexts.
Generator Projects
From winter 2023 - 2024, Katie was an operational committee member of Generator Projects.
